CONSECRATION OF THE ANTIOCHIAN ORTHODOX ARCHDIOCESE OF NORTH-AMERICA BUILDING

It is accomplished! The Antiochian Orthodox Archdiocese of North-America Building at the Al-Kafaàt Village Campus was officially consecrated on Monday 5 June, 2017.

Under the Patronage of His Beatitude Patriarch John X, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, represented by His Grace Bishop Constantine, His Eminence Metropolitan Joseph, Archbishop of New York and Metropolitan of All North America, officially consecrated the Building adopted by the Antiochian Orthodox Archdiocese of North America during an emotional event that was attended by His Grace Bishop Nicholas, Bishop of Brooklyn, New York and Washington DC, members of the Board of Trustees of AL-KAFAAT and the Antiochian Archdiocese, Al-Kafaàt Founder Mrs. Lily Nadeem Shwayri, representatives of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Ministry of Health, Deputy Hikmat Deeb, and guests.

It is a 6-storey building that is designed to include special lodging for children and adults with autism, and special education units for children with Down syndrome. The building will welcome 300 beneficiaries in September 2017.

The event was emotionally charged, especially when the children of Al-Kafaàt performed a variety of songs and dances on stages.
