AL-KAFAAT University Students Film Festival 2016
The AL-KAFAAT University launches the Second Edition of its Students Film Festival in Lebanon. Under the theme of renowned Director Francis Ford Coppola, the Al-Kafaàt launched on Sunday 18 September the opening Ceremony for the Festival in a lavish red carpet event, on the Al-Kafaàt Campus.
Famous Lebanese actors, directors and playwrights attended the event, organized by the AL-KAFAAT Students Film Festival (AKUSFF) and the Faculty of Fine Arts of the AL-KAFAAT University (AKU).
Following the success of the 2015 Festival, this year’s Festival launched the competition between all Lebanese University students competing for the title of the Best Student Film 2016. Competing students from all universities will be showing their end-of-year project movies during this entire week (September 19 to September 23) in the Theatre of the AL-KAFAAT Campus, and the winner will be announced in a closing ceremony on Friday 23 September. For more details about the schedule, check the AKUSFF Facebook Page
The Opening was marked by the wonderful performance of members of the Lebanese National Orchestra, led by Maestro Harout Fazilian, who played some of the famous scores from the well-known Coppola movies.
Join us this week on our Campus to watch the competing movies: they each represent a story of Lebanon, and more importantly, they represent the spirit and personal visions of the Lebanese youth.
